Contrast is integral to making hospitality design feel modern and the glamorous Hotel Palazzina G in Venice makes the mix explosive. French Designer Philippe Starck, plays with proportion, period and perception creating a magical yet livable boutique hotel. This jewel box of 26 unique rooms and suites, overlooking the Grand Canal enjoys lifestyle design blending hi-tech with traditional elements incorporated into a 16th century palace. Oversized mirrors, silver frames, glass wardrobes and white leather are only some characteristics that make Palazzina G’s rooms unique. A kaleidoscope of emotions, feelings and colors exhales from the hotel’s guest rooms and from the public spaces, such as the Venice-inspired luxurious bar and PG’s restaurant: a new “luxury cicchetteria” enveloped in Venetian mahogany. All around, there are different materials and colors inspired by the most refined Venetian tradition as re-interpreted by the French designer: stucco works, glass, marble, wood, mahogany, Venetian “terrazzo” and pastel shades. At Guests at Palazzina G will experience tailor made conciergerie, with a check in carried out on the 1962 Celli Boat and à-la-carte breakfast served anytime and anywhere in the hotel while the suites’ guests are welcomed with Champagne. Only the hotel guests and a few privileged outsiders can have access to the first Krug Lounge, a “champagnerie” facing the Grand Canal, where light comes from silicon chandeliers and seats are replaced by leather animals! All these features make this sophisticated human scale hotel a highly original accommodation, which can offer a unique tailor made experience in an extraordinary city like Venice.
